About Us

Overview

The Tacoma Black Fund is crafted to channel Black dollars throughout Black businesses and programs in the Black community in Tacoma, Washington. For the last few years as a consultant in our community, I've witnessed the challenges some of our leaders face due to a shortage in funds, programs, and initiatives that support the Black community. I have also witnessed our community's abundance of excellence, vibrancy, and hope. Because I can see both, I am passionate about bridging these worlds together, uniting our efforts to meet our community's pressing needs with the shared brilliance of leaders and community members like you.

Typically, a dollar lives in the Black community for 6 hours, but it has more staying power in the Jewish community (20 days) and the Asian community (30 days).

Through our two programs, the Tacoma Black Fund and our Annual Event for Entrepreneurs, TBF is designed to fund programs and services designed to benefit the descendants of enslaved Africans in America directly and foster and nurture Black entrepreneurship as a resource for building and sustaining Black generational wealth.
